Pennant Melangell Yews
Taxus baccata · Bala, Powys, Wales · SJ 024 265
At the head of a dead-end valley, St Melangell's shrine is ringed with yews in a circular llan. Pilgrims still come for the hare saint. The trees are part of the sanctuary — a living vallum around a 7th-century cult.
Grove in a circular enclosure; several veterans, recorded as a site.
