Nevern Bleeding Yews

The avenue of yews at St Brynach's weeps a dark red sap that local story calls the blood of an innocent hanged man, or of Christ. Chemistry is duller — a fungus or wound response — but the pilgrimage atmosphere is real. The Celtic great cross in the churchyard is 10th or 11th century.

Age is secondary here; the bleeding and the early Christian landscape are the point.
